Tanjong Lobang Beach (Taman Selera)
Miri City's first and one of the oldest recreational park and it is very popular with the locals. About 3km or 10 minutes drive from the City center. The open-air seafood center allows you to enjoy excellent seafood cooked the way you like. There are children parks with stages for performances. The name Tanjong Lobang is used because there is a cave on the hills side caused by sea erosion and can be seen from the beach from afar. There are 2 fishing piers for enthusiast! Families love to Picnic and barbecue here on weekends. Right now rejuvenating project is going on at the park to bring in more crowds.



The Serene "Luak Esplanade"
The Luak Bay Esplanade, 11km south of town, has an attractive white sand beach, making it a popular spot for picnics and barbecues. Along the road from the city to the esplanade there’s a number of mansions belonging to many rich tycoons around. Development of Luak is ongoing. There is going to be a touristy fish market built here and there are already nice seafood restaurants along the road. This park host some nice beach events. Also a nice place to be during sunsets and night for couples!




Beraya Beach

Beraya beach is located 15 km from Miri. The beach is great for swimming, but the real attraction here is the wealth of seashells and fossils to be found. You only have to look down at the surf line as you walk to discover beautiful seashells and some fossils of different species of crabs and other sea creatures.

This is a private beach, in front of a rustic beach resort called Tim's Seaside Hideout Cafe & Lodge, you can also see millions of tiny sand crabs on the beach.

Bungai Beach
Bungai Beach, about an hour’s drive from Miri and situated near Kampung Bungai, is a getaway spot for city dwellers who wish to commune with nature. Bekenu town with its seafood market is just 15 minutes’ drive away. There is also a local bus that makes 3 stops here from Berkenu daily.



Tusan Beach
Tusan Beach is about 40 kilometres or 30 minutes drive from Miri city, along the Miri-Bintulu Coastal Road. Tusan’s location was quite secluded and the visitors needs to descend 30 metres down the cliff to reach the beach.

The cliffs in Tanjung Layang-Layang which also known as ‘Horse Stone’ among visitors because the shape of the rocks resembles of a horse drinking water, besides several small caves with fascinating rock landscapes along the coast, as well as the ("blue tears") the bioluminescence from the zooplankton at night. Blue Tears phenomenon usually happens around September to December.


It's a secret paradise for those who love beautiful sunset scenery and of course, the dozens of fossils and seashells lying across the coastal line and found in the breakers which shell collectors find hard to resist.





Hawaii Beach
Located at Kampong Bakam and is about a 25 minute drive from Miri city, Hawaii beach boasts pristine water, golden sand and palm trees. The entrance is at Bakam village, and the entrance is next to a bus stop and through a wooden footbridge leads to the palm-fringed beach. The coconut trees offer plenty of shade, making it a perfect location for a picnic. Its a private property therefore you need to pay about RM10 for every 'hut' used. If you plan to do some barbeque's, there's an additional RM10 you need to pay coz the 'BBQ Pit' is kept by the owner.




Peliau Beach
Peliau Beach, are about an hour’s drive from Miri and is adjacent and between Bungai Beach and Sibuti Beach. They are popular getaway spots for city dwellers.
